CNC Milling

Our CNC milling capability allows us to manufacture accurate and complex components from a wide range of engineering materials.

CNC Turning

Our CNC turning capability covers the manufacture of precision cylindrical components, from simple bushes and spacers through to more complex turned profiles.

We can manufacture individual components and repeat batches to customer drawings and specifications.

CAD & CAM

We use modern 3D CAD and CAM software to prepare components for manufacture and optimise machining strategies.

We can work directly from customer 3D models and engineering drawings, or assist with the development of a component where required.

Our CAD/CAM services include:

• Manufacturing drawings

• CAM programming

• Toolpath development

• Design for manufacture

• Drawing and model interpretation

Where appropriate, we can also help identify opportunities to simplify a component or improve its manufacturability before machining begins.

Reverse Engineering

When drawings or CAD models aren't available, we can help recreate components from existing parts.

Using precision measurement and inspection techniques, we can establish the critical dimensions, features and geometry of an existing component and produce a digital CAD model suitable for manufacture.

This is particularly useful for obsolete, damaged or replacement components where original drawings are unavailable.

Our reverse engineering service can include:

• Dimensional measurement of existing components

• Creation of 3D CAD models

• Production of manufacturing drawings

• Identification of critical dimensions and features

• Reproduction of obsolete or replacement components

• Preparation of components for CNC manufacture

Where required, we can combine reverse engineering with our CNC machining capabilities to take a component from existing part to finished replacement.

Inspection & Quality

Accurate machining is only part of the process. We place strong emphasis on inspection and quality throughout manufacturing.

Our inspection capabilities allow us to verify critical dimensions and ensure components conform to the customer's requirements.

We also have access to CMM inspection capability for components requiring more detailed dimensional verification.

Axis Precision Engineering is currently working towards ISO 9001 accreditation, with the aim of continually developing our quality management systems and processes.

Prototype & Low-Volume Production

We specialise in flexible manufacturing for customers who don't necessarily require large production runs.

Whether you need a single prototype, a small batch or repeat components, we can provide a practical manufacturing solution without the overheads associated with larger production environments.

We work closely with customers to understand the application, timescale and requirements of each project, allowing us to provide a service tailored to the job.

Manual Machining

Alongside our CNC capabilities, we also undertake manual machining for one-off components, modifications, repairs and development work.

Manual machining provides additional flexibility for jobs where a conventional approach is more appropriate or economical.

FDM 3D Printing

We offer FDM 3D printing as an additional service for prototypes, fixtures, tooling aids and non-metallic components.

This provides a useful solution for applications where a machined component is unnecessary or where a physical prototype is required before committing to final manufacture.
